quirky...expressive line work....characters and objects with a slightly absurdist edge

I’m an artist, illustrator, children's book author, and creator... my journey started with the iconic Crayola 64 pack (with the sharpener in the back—of course!).
What started with Saturday morning lessons, evolved through a full-time illustrator position at Gooseberry Patch — a nationally distributed cookbook and lifestyle brand — and has continued across three decades of character design, editorial illustration, children's book work, and brand development.
My illustration style lives in two distinct worlds. The inky, sketchy, expressive work you'll see at the top of this page is where I am right now — loose, character-driven, slightly absurdist, and built for editorial and licensing work. The cleaner, more polished character illustration in the gallery below represents the full range of what I can do and the clients I've done it for.
Both are available…for commissions, editorial illustration, character design, children's book illustration, and licensing.
